A DRAWING CONTEST FOR CHILDREN OF EMPLOYEES ON THE THEME "SAVING THE EARTH" AT ALL ALCAN FACILITIES IN ECUADOR
Business Group: Engineered Products
Region: South America

At Alcan's Baltek facilities in Ecuador, an educational event under the theme "Simple Things Children Can Do To Save The Earth" proved very popular with children of the group's employees.

The aim of the contest was to demonstrate children's attitude toward change and encourage them to be proactive with respect to environment and safety. The children were asked to make a drawing about how they want to live on planet Earth and how they can contribute to a better environment.

The contest was conducted simultaneously at each location in Ecuador. All participants received a present and a letter signed by the unit's general manager to thank them for their contribution. A local artist chose the 12 best drawings to make a calendar that was later distributed to employees, customers and other partners.
